I’ve reached my weight rock bottom


It’s taken a few years of increased weight gain but I’ve finally reached my weight rock bottom and i’m going to lose weight.

I’m not medically overweight but here are my reasons for wanting to lose weight:

  • I am borderline between ‘normal’ and ‘overweight’ and I don’t need to weigh as much as I do.
  • I will be healthier if I lose some weight.
  • I don’t like the way I look, especially in clothes. I want to wear a tunic without my bum and tum sticking out.

I don’t want to be super skinny, just a healthy weight and to get rid of the excess fat I don’t need. I’m also hoping that I will get fit exercising during the process, something I’ve never been able to describe myself as.

My current BMI

So my goal weight is 63.5kg (10 stone) and from what I’ve read a health weight loss is 0.5kg per week so here’s my plan.

Current weight: 70kg (11 stone)

My Goal BMI

I’ll be posting my weight online every sunday night. I’m hoping that having a weight-in at the end of the week will make me think twice about what I eat during the week as well as help me keep track of my progress.

Do you think I should measure my waist weekly as well? I’ve heard that sometimes you can not lose much weight, perhaps because you gained muscle, but you have lost inches around your waist.

My biggest problem is discipline. I’m already forgetting all of this as I type and planning on making a chocolate cake. Mainly because I enjoy baking things but I’d be kidding myself if I said I wouldn’t eat any of it. It’s going to take a lot of will power for me to cut out all the bad things in my diet. I’m not sure how best to do this yet or if I can! I know I really want to but I think that if I go cold turkey on all the foods I enjoy I’ll be miserable and will fail.

If anyone has any suggestions or weight loss successes / failures, I’d love to hear them?

    Hey! I think it is great you are working to improve yourself for yourself. My weight has never been the main issue to me but how I feel about myself and how fit I am. I feel so bad if I can’t run for the bus! Anyways best of luck for you and I look forward to reading your progress =)
